Adult Summer Reading Grand Finale: Peter Rock

6:30 PM – 8:00 PM
Forest Grove City Library

Description

As the grand finale to this year's Adult Summer Reading Program, we're very excited to host a special live-streamed event on Tuesday, August 24th, 2021, with Portland-based writer Peter Rock. In addition to sharing insights into his creative process and answering questions from the online audience, Peter will read from and talk about his 2009 novel, My Abandonment, which served as the inspiration for the award-winning 2018 film, Leave No Trace, starring Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie. We have extra print, digital, and downloadable copies of the book for you to read before the program, so be sure to reserve yours today!

The author of nine novels as well as a story collection issued in 2006, Peter Rock's fiction and freelance writing have been anthologized widely, and his books published in various countries and languages. He has taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Yale, Deep Springs College, San Francisco State University, and Reed College. You can find out more about Peter by visiting his website, The Peter Rock Project.

This free event will be broadcast live to the Library's YouTube channel starting at 6:30 pm.
