Welcome to our first Community Reads project for youth, ages 11 + . This program will be held online through the Zoom platform.
Join one of two discussion opportunities: October 12th and October 26th. Register for the date that works best for you.
During this conversation, we will discuss This Book Is Antiracist by Tiffany Jewell, illustrated by Aurélia Durand, and using This Book Is Antiracist Journal by the same author/illustrator team to help guide the reader towards a deeper understanding of race, racism, and antiracism. Free copies of the books are available beginning September 1, and will continue to be available through the month of October, while supplies last. This is a safe place for conversation about literature. As with all of our work, we will do this without entering into politics, coming instead from a point of compassion and endeavoring to support and honor the diverse community.
Sherwood Public Library is an American Library Association grant recipient for this project. Additional sponsorship is from the Rotary Club of Sherwood.
You must register to receive the Zoom link.
