You don't often find a story about a father-son conflict that is not only heartfelt but also uproariously funny. In his memoir of growing up in rural Mississippi, Key perfectly captures what it feels like to be a sensitive boy out of place in his father's world of guns, hunting, and football. And yet, with all of their arguments and misunderstandings, Key's love for his father never falters and appears on every page. What makes this book extra special is Key's laugh-out-loud writing about his parents, his school days, and the day he was a high-school ringer for a pee-wee football team. Get ready to read passages out loud to the one you love.

Good solid read of a father-son relationship. Towards the end he is wanting his father to move closer to him and he realizes that after spending the majority of his life trying to put distance between himself and his father, he is finally wanting to pull him closer.
