This is a Hellboy rip off. That's not necessarily a criticism. Whether you dislike Atomic Robo will depend almost entirely on three things. Do you like Hellboy? Are you looking for more Hellboy? Are you offended by derivative works? You will need to answer 'yes' to the first two questions and 'no' to the third question to enjoy Atomic Robo. Atomic Robo is a science fiction pulp take on Hellboy. the work is well drawn and well written, although not groundbreaking. Hellboy itself of course is a rip off of a host of various pulp genres. Hellboy elevated the genres that it ripped off, Atomic Robo just does a good job of imitating them enjoyably. It will not change your life, but it might distract you enjoyably.

Great artwork, lackluster story.
