I don't write reviews often, but since there are none for this book.....
This series isn't particularly deep nor particularly Victorian other then the timeframe in which it's set. Nevertheless I do enjoy them very much for fun. In this episode, Mrs Jeffries, the Inspector and all the "staff" ,secret investigators, are baffled. Mrs Jeffries is particularly concerned that she will not find the culprit. The victim is universally disliked, amoral and self centered. So the pool of potential culprits is vast. It comes to an interesting conclusion in which I found myself deeply sympathetic to the murderer.
Again, these are not deeply cerebral stories, nor are they particularly intricate. Nevertheless, they are enjoyable and I do appreciate the cast of characters.
