Humorist Roy Blount, Jr. takes the viewer on an off-beat journey down the Mississippi River. From a gay newlywed game at Minnesota's Mall of America to a rodeo at America's toughest prison in Angola, Louisiana, to a stone-skipping contest with Garrison Keillor, Blount throws himself into each new encounter. Among the dozens of truly unique personalities he meets along the way are a French chef who touts swamp rats as a culinary delicacy, an award-winning newspaper editor serving a life sentence for murder, and the founder and curator of the "Elvis is Alive" museum.
