Poor plot organization with a lot of red herrings that lead no where and boring character development with repetitive references to issues in the lives of these small town characters. While digging up the body lead to finding her murderer, we never did find out who desecrated the grave. Disingenuous writing style is about the level of a harlequin romance and the characters are about as profound as those in a reality tv show.

I believe this is Frances Mayes only fiction, I liked it much better than her current book Every Day in Tuscany
