I found book 3 to be a bit different, definitely had a bit more plot than the first too. But it was just as hilarious and despicable as the first two and I loved it just as much. Hated that new assistant. Channon was so much better, can't wait to read the next one.

Vol 1 of the series starts off very well. It's 5 stars as comic books go, ie relative to the nearly exhausted superhero comics, which plod on now by marketing gimmicks like the New 52. The art really, really looks great, very lovingly done to create a near future dystopolis. The book is equally well written, playing with over-the-topness quite successfully. It never goes so far as to become corny or silly or self indulgent which is no mean feat. Well, no quite never, but no matter.

Book three of Transmetropolitan contains the story of Spider Jerusalem as he covers the national election with hilarious results. Using his journalistic talents and mounds of drugs he struggles to have some effect on The City's voters. Recommended.
