The movie Snitch was a really fast paced action movie. The movie is based on a man going under cover to bust big time drug dealers to give his son less time in jail. I think this movie was really important to watch because it showed how a small mistake could lead you ending up in jail for a long time. Another huge message in this movie is that a father would do anything to save his son. Another reason I loved this movie is because my favourite actor is Dwayne Johnson and he is the main character in this movie. The action scenes in this movie are very thrilling and look very realistic. Also the actors in this movie portray the roles of each character very well and make you wonder what is going to happen throughout the whole thing. In conclusion this movie is about the streets and how drug trafficking works and the consequences that can happen if you do the wrong thing. I recommend this movie for anyone that is old enough to handle the content and for people that want to learn more about this topic. 4/5 Stars. @ButterChicken of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

First reviewed on Sep 28, 2013 but gone missing. So, watched the film again and added the connection to a Frontline story:
A bit slow for an action thriller as it had to establish and reinforce the feelings of a father who would do anything to free his jailed son; also nice crash special effects on cars trying to stop a semi-trailer truck in the freeway chase scenes -- no contest though a bit absurd that anyone tried. Inspired by the Frontline documentary -- "Snitch" investigates how a fundamental shift in the country's anti-drug laws -- including federal mandatory minimum sentencing and conspiracy provisions--has bred a culture of snitching that is in many cases rewarding the guiltiest and punishing the less guilty, see link to Frontline in "Summary."

A kid agrees to accept a package from his best friend who is setting him up to reduce his own sentence. Gets busted with nobody to sell out so his dad goes looking for someone to trade in for a bust to reduce his kid's sentence. Rapidly gets in over his head. Realistic in a world such as this one where everyone's willing to sell out their own grandmother for a reduced sentence, and where the government has created the system where it all happens.

No doubt the Rock gives his all in this part. Rock is becoming the next Arnold Schwarzenegger only better in the dramatic department.
