Reads like an old fashioned Hollywood movie: little sex, exotic setting & slow organic pace.
Basic boy meets girl, boy ask girl for a date after 4 months, boy get offer on his cinema in in a movie, girl stop meeting boy on every Wednesday night & boy tries to solve where she is.
Huge payoff by near end of the book.

I love all Nicolas Barreau's books. They are like romantic crime novels in a good way. It is a type of book that you can't put down.
Absolutely charming novel about lonely theatre owner Alain in Paris who gathers the courage to ask out the woman (Melanie) who attends his theatre every Wednesday night - it's love at first sight for both! But via unknown circumstances further romance is derailed and Alain must search endlessly for Melanie. Meanwhile a Hollywood movie is being filmed in his little theatre.
I treasured every chapter in Nicolas Barreau's novel, not wanting to read too fast to the end. Story should be made into a film. Looking forward to reading his other two books.
