Wow! Spectacular novel. Full of richly drawn flawed characters and a surprise ending. I will definitely read all of her books.

I enjoyed this book, as it was a very fast paced thriller. It gets very tense right in the beginning. Did not like some of the graphic contents which were very difficult to read as there are scenes dealing with brutally graphic violence including rape. First time reading Karin Slaughter but will definately give her other books a try. This book was full of drama and at times had me teary eyed.

I didn’t have the same favorable impression of this book that many had.
First off, it’s graphically violent. It is crude and it is long. It just seemed to me the unfavorable qualities in a human were emphasized more than the good.

This was my second Karin Slaughter read and I was not disappointed. This story wastes no time, grips you and keeps your attention for its entirety. Great dynamics between characters and though the outcome I did figure out near the end was still an intense finish to this tale.

My kind of easy, vacation read. I enjoyed the mystery of it all and the stories of the two sisters. However, I would have enjoyed more about the court case and more story into Mason Huckabee

This stand-alone will keep you up with its trips back to what happened in the past, and might have you moving to to a book on a much light note once you've finished. There are graphic descriptions but they are not extraneous.

I tend to avoid murder/mayhem stories but this was exceptional. Excellent plot twists and well imagined characters.
