An explosive exposé that lays out the Trump administration's ties to Moscow, and Russia's decades-in-the-making political game to upend American democracy. December 2016. Luke Harding, the Guardian reporter and former Moscow bureau chief, quietly meets former MI6 officer Christopher Steele in a London pup to discuss President-elect Donald Trump's Russia connections. A month later, Steele's now-famous dossier sparks what may be the biggest scandal of the modern era. The names of the Americans involved are well-known—Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Jared Kushner, George Papadopoulos, Carter Page—but here Harding also shines a light on powerful Russian figures like Aras Agalarov, Natalia Veselnitskaya, and Sergey Kislyak, whose motivations and instructions may have been coming from the highest echelons of the Kremlin. Drawing on new material and his expert understanding of Moscow and its players, Harding takes the reader through every bizarre and disquieting detail of the "Trump-Russia" story—an event so huge it involves international espionage, off-shore banks, sketchy real estate deals, the Miss Universe pageant, mobsters, money laundering, poisoned dissidents, computer hacking, and the most shocking election in American history.

A well researched book, full of detail, yet it reads like a novel. Harding makes the case that the Trump - Russia connections are so well documented, numerous, ongoing and long-standing that there's no question Russia is using Trump to disrupt democratic policies in the US and elsewhere. The only question is whether Trump is a willing/unwilling partner or simply clueless.

The Russians attacked our most vulnerable citizens - the uneducated. They used social media to brainwash them into voting for Trump and believing in conspiracy theories like the "Deep State". Hopefully, when the Mueller investigation reveals just how crooked Trump is the "base" will wake up and realize they have been conned. It is not a coincidence that almost everyone associated with the Trump campaign (even the coffee boy) had connections with former spies or close friends of Putin.

Satisfying read. Mr. Trump will always have a bad impression on me. He's not president worthy.

This book is science fiction at it's best...... Hillary Clinton and the Uranium One deal is where the real facts lie. Try Clinton Cash by Peter Schweizer, for one.

While not revealing a smoking gun, one comes away convinced that, in all likelihood, Trump did collude with Russia just so that he could win the election, and (a bit less likely) that there is some compromising material that Putin is holding over his head.

Now, if you're a Trump person, stop reading here, because I'm about to go into a rant.

I can understand very well that a lot of people are disgusted with out political system and feel left out by both Dems and Republicans, who are so busy catering to the rich and powerful.

But, at this stage, let's face reality! Trump has shown himself to be a self-centered, inept, corrupt, deceitful (and probably treasonous) buffoon with delusions of grandeur who, also favors the wealthy and influential and doesn't give a fig about the people who voted for him, but is still able to manipulate them whenever he wants.

If, after all this, some people still support him, then, indeed, they belong to the "basket of deplorables", and I have no respect for their intelligence.

"Collusion" is an excellent introduction to the largely unknown world of Russia, Ukraine and the now independent countries of the old Soviet block and how they relate to Trump and his band of lovers of the strong-men of that world. While most Americans relate to the democracies of UK, France, Germany and the Nordic countries, Trump, his children and his associates were making real estate/money-making deals with authoritarians in Russia, the ex-Soviet Bloc, etc. with oligarchs looking to make a few hundred million here and there. A good intro to Paul Manafort, Agalarov, Page, Flynn, Kislyak, and Christopher Steele and his infamous "dossier."
