I haven't been pregnant in 14 years, but as a mother and physician I still learned so many fascinating things from this book. I think it should be required reading for all women who are pregnant, thinking about getting pregnant, or even those-like me-who labored and delivered long ago. I learned things about the relationship between a mother and fetus that helped me understand the bond I have with my 13yo son even better now. Most importantly, I learned that the push and pull of our relationship, especially in these teen years, is an inherent part of the biologic and socio-cultural processes that we starting sharing before he was even born.
