SMALL NOTE: To truly enjoy some of the inside jokes, take a look at SCARFACE (1939) starring Paul Muni. It was George Raft`s ("Spats") movie debut. Legend states that, while actually have just avoided being entangled by the Mob (due to some of 'da boys' throwning together enough money to get him out of town and all the way to Hollywood), by his own admittance, Raft was just a hard-working schmo who didn`t know nothin' from nothin' about acting: especially what to do with his hands in a scene. So Howard Hawks, the director, gave him a silver dollar and told him to flip it. It became Raft's trademark.
