Shame on you Spielberg. But then, no surprise. In a nutshell, here's the important point: Save for the few facts (innocent athletes were killed <tortured, murdered> in Munich, Golda ordered the assassination of the perpetrators <duh>, 9 of the 11 involved were killed later <they should have all been killed in Munich; it was even more of a travesty that they ALL got away after killing all the athletes they had kidnapped>), which Spielberg admits himself, the story is made up! Phrases (on the film itself!) which say "BASED on true events/facts" and "INSPIRED by real events", mean just that: The fictional depiction constructed in this film, which you are about to watch, is MADE UP! And how amazing, that one of the most clear cut cases of unsubstantiated outrageous behavior by the animals that did that in Munich (don't take my word for it; go watch all the actual events from 1972, and see how it unfolded from beginning to end), should give one pause to think that maybe the Israeli government went overboard. Really? Please. The German government is the one that exhibited outrageous behavior, but that was conveniently skipped over in the film. Aside from this, the film just isn't very good anyway. It gets bogged down, after starting out interestingly, but that's to be expected with all the unrealistic B.S. psychology the movie foists on it's main characters, in trying to deliver it's typical Follywood message. No surprise that many in the Masada have said the film was "out to lunch". (Ham & cheese on rye please. : )
